Overview

Teams can import an HTML design and set editable areas through a visual theme editor or HTML classes and attributes. That makes Blocks Edit a fit for workflows built around existing HTML: designers can define the framework, while content editors work within it. It supports HTML, CSS and JavaScript platforms, with publishing to a chosen host or CDN and email export to service providers.

Its scope ends before delivery. Blocks Edit helps produce email content, but it does not send messages to customers or hold audience lists, so email campaigns require a separate delivery service.

Key features

Editing and preview

Inline editing and drag-and-drop components let teams revise prepared content without making every change in code. Live preview and editing for mobile and dark mode are useful for reviewing those views before publishing. This is controlled editing of an HTML design, not a substitute for creating the underlying design from scratch.

Team review and quality checks

Comments, role-based permissions, revision history, a shared content library and campaign checklists give teams ways to coordinate edits and preserve review context. Checklist-based checks can flag missing or broken links, while automated image formatting can reduce a separate manual step. These features matter most when several people prepare or approve content; a solo editor may not need the collaboration overhead.

Connections and security

Direct connections include AWS, GCP Storage, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, Iterable, Okta and OneLogin, with sFTP and SAML support. Custom integration requests require a yearly plan with at least five team members, a meaningful constraint for smaller teams needing a bespoke connection. The security overview says remote server access uses VPN and two-factor authentication and is limited to workers who need access for their work. Uploaded files are backed up daily, and data is encrypted over public networks. Blocks Edit says it does not handle customer emails or audience lists; its stated PII scope is team account credentials.

Pricing

Blocks Edit is freemium, with a free plan and a 30-day trial. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and provides solo editing, unlimited editing and 5 GB of storage. It is a useful starting point for an individual, but does not provide the listed five-user team allocation or separately priced integrations.

Collaborate costs 20.00 USD per year and includes 250 GB of storage. The 5 users plan costs 99.00 USD per year and covers five users. The Yearly plan is shown at 20.00 USD per year, billed yearly, with five users shown; its pricing display also gives 5 users as ~~$125~~ $99 per month. Integrations are priced separately, so teams should account for that rather than treating the team price as including connections.

The Integrations plan costs 10.00 USD per month, billed at $10/user per month each, for each integration covering asset hosts, email providers and SSO. Additional storage costs 25.00 USD per month per additional 250 GB increment. Custom pricing is the route for a plan without a published price. The listed prices use different billing terms, so compare the annual team and storage charges with the per-user monthly integration cost before choosing a setup.

Platforms

Blocks Edit runs on the web. Its compatibility with HTML, CSS and JavaScript platforms and its host/CDN publishing and service-provider email exports make it adaptable to web publishing workflows, but do not add a message-sending function.

Who it's for

Freelancers, agencies, enterprise teams, marketers, managers, designers, developers, copywriters and content editors are among its intended users. It is most compelling when a team needs to preserve a designed HTML structure while sharing edits, approvals and reusable content. A person looking for a standalone email sender or audience manager should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Editable regions can be configured visually or through HTML classes and attributes, giving developers control over what content teams can change.
Pros: Comments, permissions, revisions, shared content and checklists support coordinated review; broken-link flagging and image formatting address practical production checks.
Pros: Publishing to a host or CDN and exporting email content to service providers suit teams working across web and email formats.
Cons: Email delivery and audience-list management are outside its scope, so email teams need separate services for those jobs.
Cons: Integrations and additional storage can add recurring costs, while custom integration requests require a yearly plan with at least five team members.

Alternatives

For a different kind of email workflow, Canary is a free email app with a unified inbox, read receipts, snooze and pin, and email templates. Choose it when managing an inbox and using templates matters more than editing prepared HTML layouts with a team.

MJML is an open-source option under the MIT license, with a free-to-use REST API. It is the alternative to consider when open-source tooling is the priority.

Unitpost has a free plan with email-volume, contact, domain, webhook and image-storage allowances. Choose it when those sending and contact quotas better match the need than Blocks Edit's content-production focus.

Dragble offers a free plan with three projects, 10 GB of storage, 10 core content blocks and Dragble branding. It may suit a reader who wants to start with those project and block limits.

MailEditor offers a Starter plan at 9.00 USD per month, billed yearly, with member, export, test-email, template, storage and AI-template allowances. Consider it when those capped email-production quotas are a closer fit.

Serious Email Studio has a free plan for one user with three projects, 10 templates and responsive previews, making it a straightforward option to compare for a small, bounded workload.

Stripo has a free plan with two members, four monthly exports, five daily test emails and 10 stored emails. Choose it when those explicit free-tier export and test-email limits meet the need.

Unlayer offers a free email, page, popup and document builder, with API and self-hosted platforms also listed. It is worth considering when that broader builder mix is the priority.

Verdict

Choose Blocks Edit if your team already works with HTML designs and needs controlled editing, shared review and routes to publish or export content. Its strongest reason to buy is the combination of configurable editing boundaries and team workflow. Look elsewhere if your priority is sending campaigns, managing audiences, or avoiding the added cost of per-user integrations and storage.
