Overview

Text-Em-All combines SMS and voice broadcasts with two-way text conversations and automated messages. Monthly pricing scales with the number of unique people messaged, which can suit organizations with a defined audience; teams with changing or very large audiences should weigh that structure against the credits option.

Founded in 2005, the company describes itself as employee-owned. Support is available by chat, email, and phone Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM CST.

Key features

Teams can schedule broadcasts, personalize messages with tags, and use real-time analytics and delivery reports to track campaigns. Keyword automation and two-way texting support ongoing exchanges rather than one-way announcements alone. Carrier registration is also among the product's features.

Voice broadcasts can accompany texts or replace them, giving organizations another channel for announcements. Integrations include native connections for staffing and church platforms, Zapier, viaSocket, and a REST API. The API is presented for messaging above 50,000 messages per month, and developer access must be requested through the company.

The iOS and Android apps support replies, conversation management, and new texts to up to 15 people. Larger mass broadcasts have to be sent from the web app, so mobile is useful for follow-up but not a substitute for desktop campaign sending. Standard messages run up to 320 characters; credits support messages up to 1,600 characters.

Recipients must consent to messages, promotional texts require express written consent, and political solicitation messages are not allowed. The company says it takes commercially reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative steps to secure personal information, including restricting physical access to database servers and using password protections. Text-Em-All is not HIPAA compliant: messages are not encrypted at rest, and standard SMS cannot be encrypted in transit. It is therefore a poor fit for protected health information.

Pricing

The Starter plan is free to start with no commitment and includes 25 credits for testing voice broadcasts and test texting to your own number. Mass texting requires an upgrade, making Starter a trial of basic functions rather than a free ongoing broadcast service.

Monthly starts at $19 per month with recurring monthly billing. It costs $19 for 1–50 people, $39 for 51–100, $69 for 101–200, $99 for 201–300, $119 for 301–400, $139 for 401–500, $199 for 501–750, $239 for 751–1,000, $359 for 1,001–1,500, $479 for 1,501–2,000, and $599 for 2,000–2,500. For 2,501 or more, the plan points customers to credits pricing. Because the price follows unique people messaged, organizations should estimate their audience before choosing a tier.

Credits pricing is custom pricing, with rates starting from 9¢ per credit. Rates are 9¢ each for 400–999 credits, 8.5¢ for 1,000–2,499, 8¢ for 2,500–4,999, 7.5¢ for 5,000–9,999, 7¢ for 10,000–24,999, 6.5¢ for 25,000–49,999, and 6¢ for 50,000–99,999; contact the company for 100,000 or more. This pay-as-needed structure may suit senders whose volume varies, while recurring monthly pricing is clearer for teams with predictable audiences.

Platforms

Text-Em-All is available on web, iOS, Android, and through an API. SMS alerts, voice call alerts, and mobile app alerts are supported; email and desktop alerts are not. The service supports two-way messaging, scheduled campaigns, delivery reports, caller ID control, message personalization, and SMS follow-up.

Who it's for

Businesses and organizations that message opted-in audiences and want text, voice, and reply management together are the clearest fit. Staffing and church integrations may be useful to those sectors, while the mobile app's 15-person sending limit and web-only mass broadcasts matter to teams that need to launch large campaigns away from a computer. Healthcare organizations handling protected health information should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Text and voice broadcasts, two-way conversations, scheduling, and automation sit in one service, supporting both announcements and replies.
Pros: A free Starter plan offers 25 credits for testing voice broadcasts and personal test texts without commitment.
Cons: Starter does not support mass texting, and the mobile app limits new texts to 15 people; larger broadcasts require the web app.
Cons: Consent rules are strict, including express written consent for promotional texts and a ban on political solicitation.
Cons: The stated lack of HIPAA compliance rules out messaging protected health information.

Verdict

Choose Text-Em-All if your organization needs scheduled SMS and voice outreach with reply handling and can work within consent rules and web-based mass sending. Its main advantage is bringing broadcasts and conversations together; look elsewhere if you need free ongoing mass texting, mobile campaign sending, or HIPAA-compliant messaging.
