Pick Battery 4 if…

Battery 4 suits producers who want a drum sampler on macOS or Windows, either standalone or inside a plug-in host. It is useful for working with mapped samples, round-robin playback, and varied imported formats.

Pick Cardinal if…

Cardinal suits musicians who want a free modular synthesizer in standalone or plugin form, with MIDI support and a substantial included module set. Users who need to add external Rack modules or use OSC from a plugin should note those limits.
