Overview

Bambuser is a video commerce platform for brands and retailers. Its Live Shopping, Shoppable Video, Chat, and Video Consultation experiences can be embedded on websites, bringing video-led product discovery and customer guidance into an online store. The company was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

The platform combines live and recorded video shopping with short-form purchasable clips and face-to-face customer calls. Bambuser presents its service for businesses of all sizes, from small businesses and retailers to global merchants. Plans differ substantially in viewing allowances, user counts, support, and access to developer tools.

Key features

Live and shoppable video

Live Shopping can appear on websites, apps, and social channels. Retailers can stream in real time or use pre-recorded content, and the experience can support on-demand viewing. Shoppable Video turns material such as social posts, live shows, user-generated content, and campaigns into short videos that shoppers can buy from.

Bambuser lists product catalog sync as supported. Native social checkout is not listed as a feature, so the platform's commerce proposition centers on shopping experiences connected to video rather than checkout natively within a social channel.

Video consultations

Video Consultation supports both drop-in and pre-booked face-to-face calls. Retailers can use these sessions to give customers personalized product guidance, adding a direct service option alongside videos that shoppers browse independently.

Integrations and developer access

Bambuser documents integrations with Shopify and says its consultation product can connect directly to CRMs such as Salesforce. It lists support for Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce (Magento), and BigCommerce. Its pricing page describes self-serve REST APIs for bespoke scaling and automation; mobile SDK support is listed on the Pro and Enterprise plans.

Security and hosting

Bambuser says its Stockholm site is ISO 27001 certified, covering its information security management system. It describes least-privilege, role-based access, regular reviews of production access, and multifactor authentication for critical systems. The company also says its cloud infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.

Pricing

Bambuser has a free plan and a free trial. The Essential plan starts at $79 per month, billed annually at $948.00. The Pro plan is $249 per month, billed annually at $2,988.00. Enterprise pricing is not listed. Bambuser lists an overage charge of $0.25 per view beyond the monthly allowance and says customers can upgrade to increase their monthly views.

Platforms

Bambuser is listed for Android, iOS, web, and API. Its experiences can be embedded on websites, and its Live Shopping feature is described for websites, apps, and social channels. Mobile SDK access is included on higher tiers, specifically Pro and Enterprise.

Who it's for

Bambuser is aimed at brands and retailers that want to sell through video, offer product guidance by call, or both. A small business can start with the free plan, though its monthly allowance is 250 views and it is limited to two users and one domain or market. Essential raises the view allowance to 2,000 per month and adds guided onboarding.

Businesses needing custom usage plans, substantially more storage, multiple users or markets, white labeling, SSO, or a mobile SDK will need to consider Pro or Enterprise. The choice between those tiers also affects support: Pro lists accessible human support, while Enterprise adds a dedicated customer manager.

Pros and cons

Pros

Combines live shopping, purchasable short-form video, and personalized video consultations.
Supports live or pre-recorded video, with experiences for websites, apps, and social channels.
Documents commerce connections including Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, and BigCommerce.
Offers a free plan and lists defined view, user, domain or market, and storage limits for lower tiers.
Higher tiers include options such as mobile SDK access, SSO, and white labeling.

Cons

The free plan is limited to 250 views per month, two users, one domain or market, and 10 GB of storage.
Essential is billed annually, and the listed $0.25 per-view overage may matter when the monthly allowance is exceeded.
Pro and Enterprise use custom usage and viewing plans, while Enterprise pricing is not listed.
Native social checkout is not listed as supported.

Alternatives

Shoppers and retailers considering other social commerce services can compare LTK, Facebook Shops, and TikTok Shop. For live shopping, TalkShopLive and eStreamly are other options to consider. Taggbox, Pinterest Shopping, and Mavely also appear in the broader social commerce landscape.

Verdict

Bambuser is built for retailers that want video to serve as both a shopping format and a customer service channel. Its mix of live and on-demand shopping, short-form purchasable video, and individual consultations covers several ways to bring product content into a storefront. Integrations and developer access provide routes for connecting the platform to commerce systems and custom workflows.

The main decision points are scale and cost. The free tier has a modest view allowance, Essential requires annual billing, and overages are charged per view. Businesses that need custom capacity, mobile SDK support, white labeling, or advanced support must look at higher tiers, with Enterprise pricing requiring further clarification.
