Overview

Evite is a digital invitation and event-planning service for hosts who want RSVPs and guest communication alongside an invitation. It suits casual get-togethers especially well, and can also accommodate larger or recurring events through paid options. Its chief advantage is keeping invitations and coordination together; its per-event packages make recurring use a different proposition from the free tier.

Key features

Invitations and guest management

Hosts can customize invitations and send them by email, text, or link, then track RSVPs, message guests, and send automatic reminders. That combination is useful when plans change or a host needs to follow up, rather than relying on separate messages and a manual headcount. The Free plan states a 12-guest limit, so larger lists call for a paid package or Pro.

Event Pages and coordination

Free Event Pages are designed for casual gatherings and work in a phone, tablet, or desktop browser. Hosts can create them and guests can RSVP without downloading an app, an advantage when invitees use different devices or prefer not to install another service. Sign-up sheets let guests claim potluck items or volunteer slots, extending the page from an RSVP list to basic event coordination.

Cards and design

Evite also offers digital greeting cards that can be scheduled or sent immediately by text or email. Hosts can upload their own invitation design, and Evite says a design can be sent to Evite from its Canva app. These options give hosts more room to personalize communications, though Premium invitations are paid and their price varies with guest-list size. Premium packages are ad-free and include a matching envelope, stamps, and extra photo and text cards.

Privacy and eligibility

Evite says it uses physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards, including access restrictions and firewalls, while acknowledging that no system can be completely secure. Users must be at least 16 to register or use the service, and 18 to purchase subscriptions.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes free invitations and Event Pages; Premium invitation prices vary by guest-list size. Its stated 12-guest limit makes it most appropriate for smaller gatherings. The Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond packages are for single-event use, not recurring access:

Silver: 17.99 USD per month, billed; 12 guests.
Gold: 36.99 USD per month, billed; 30 guests.
Platinum: 68.99 USD per month, billed; 75 guests.
Diamond: 99.99 USD per month, billed; 750 guests.

These packages suit hosts who want Premium invitations for one event at a time, with the higher tiers serving progressively larger guest lists. Evite Pro costs 249.99 USD per year, billed annually, and allows up to 2,500 guests per invitation. It is aimed at people hosting multiple events a year, including businesses, schools, clubs, organizations, and weddings; the annual commitment is less fitting for an occasional host.

Platforms

Evite lists apps for Android and iOS. Event Pages can be created in a browser on a phone, tablet, or desktop, and guests can RSVP there without an app. That browser access is particularly useful for broad guest lists where app installation would add friction.

Who it's for

Evite is a good fit for people organizing casual gatherings who want invitations, responses, reminders, and simple guest contributions in one place. Hosts planning a large one-off event can choose a package sized to the list, while frequent hosts and organizations may find Pro's higher capacity more appropriate. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a small, one-time invitation and does not need RSVP or coordination tools.

Pros and cons

Pro: Email, text, and link delivery plus RSVP tracking, guest messaging, and automatic reminders help keep event communication in one workflow.
Pro: Free browser-based Event Pages and sign-up sheets support casual events without requiring guests to install an app.
Pro: Pro supports up to 2,500 guests per invitation, giving recurring hosts and organizations more headroom than the single-event packages.
Con: The Free plan's stated limit is 12 guests, restricting its usefulness for larger lists.
Con: The paid invitation packages are single-event use, so repeated events may make an annual Pro subscription more relevant than buying packages one by one.
Con: Premium invitation prices vary by guest-list size, making the cost less predictable until the list is settled.

Verdict

Choose Evite if you want digital invitations backed by RSVP tracking, reminders, and practical guest coordination, particularly for casual events or a calendar of larger gatherings. The free Event Pages are its strongest fit for uncomplicated parties, while Pro serves hosts who need recurring use and capacity for up to 2,500 guests. Look elsewhere if a 12-guest free invitation is too small or if single-event package pricing does not suit your plans.
