Overview

ABCmouse is an early-learning curriculum for children ages 2–8, bringing together reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music. Its library includes more than 13,000 learning activities, with personalized Learning Paths to organize a child’s progress. The service is available through mobile apps and desktop or laptop browsers; it directs phone and tablet users away from mobile web browsing and to the app instead.

ABCmouse combines curriculum activities with features such as customizable avatars, tickets and rewards, STEM activities, coding fundamentals, and Pet Town. Progress in a child’s Learning Path, avatar customizations, and My World updates sync between the mobile app and a desktop or laptop web browser. For families who want limited access before paying, the Basic plan is free, ad-free, and capped at 10 activities a day for one child profile.

Key features

Curriculum and Learning Paths

The curriculum covers six subject areas, while personalized Learning Paths provide a way to follow a child’s progress. Premium includes full Reading and Math Learning Paths. The plan comparison also lists a Parent Dashboard, so parents have a dedicated place to view the program alongside children’s activities.

Rewards and creative elements

Customizable avatars, tickets and rewards, and Pet Town give the learning experience additional interactive elements. The listed activity mix also includes STEM activities and coding fundamentals, extending beyond the core reading and math paths.

Progress across devices

Learning Path progress, avatar changes, and My World updates sync between the app and desktop or laptop web browser. Mobile web browsers are not supported, so phone and tablet users need to use the app rather than the site in a mobile browser.
