XO

What XO is

XO organizes drum samples by sonic similarity, helping users audition sounds and rhythms rather than search through folders. Its library includes more than 8,700 one-shot samples and more than 240 editable beat presets. It can sort samples wherever they are stored, including duplicates and files on external drives, with search and filters for narrowing choices. For sequencing, XO provides Groove Templates, pattern nudging, and an Accentuator for adjusting beat feel and dynamics. Users can drag and drop individual samples, kits, stems, or complete beats as audio or MIDI, raw or processed. XO works as a plugin in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX hosts, and is also available as a standalone app. It supports eight pattern tracks, sample import, MIDI, and live performance tools. The product page specifies 64-bit macOS 10.13 or later and Windows 10 or 11. A 10-day full-feature trial does not require payment details. Plans are listed at £76.20, paid once, £95.40, paid once with four expansions, and £399.50, paid once with all 33 expansions.
