What TopSolid'Design is

TopSolid'Design is a 3D CAD solution for mechanical design on supported 64-bit Windows systems. Its hybrid modeling approach combines parametric and associative design, solid and surface modeling, direct editing, and sheet-metal tools. Assembly work supports bottom-up and top-down methods, large assemblies with partial loading, and welded structures. Users can simulate motion, detect collisions, and measure speed or distance. The software also creates 2D drawings, ISO GPS tolerancing, bills of materials, exploded assemblies, and cutting lists. TopSolid'Pdm integration provides document revisions, lifecycle management, access rights, and change tracking. Smart Components capture reusable parameterized components without programming, while the included TopSolid'Automation API supports data exchange and repetitive task automation. Documented formats include Catia, Creo, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, IFC, and point clouds; some interfaces may be optional. Pricing is available on request, and a free 30-day trial is offered. The supplied SQL Server Express supports up to 10 simultaneous PDM users; beyond that, SQL Standard and per-user CALs are required.
