What newnamer is
newnamer is a free web tool for generating domain name ideas and checking whether domains appear available. It is intended for people naming apps, websites, businesses, products, or projects. Users can lock keywords, set their position, exclude words, choose a word count, and select styles such as alliteration, rhyme, or brandable ideas. Generated names contain letters only; numbers, hyphens, and other symbols are excluded. The checker covers .com, .co.uk, .net, .io, .ai, .app, .dev, .co, .uk, and .org. Results can be liked or disliked, filtered into a shortlist, or supplemented with more suggestions while retaining prior checks and preferences. Availability checks use public DNS-over-HTTPS services, trying Google Public DNS first and Cloudflare as a fallback. This is a discovery signal rather than a registrar guarantee, and a registered domain without active DNS may appear open. The app does not require an account. Its privacy policy says searched words and domains may be sent to DNS services, while broad product interactions may be tracked without transmitting entered keywords or domain names.
