What Lisan is

Lisan is an AI speaking tutor for practising English, Arabic, or French through short conversations. Learners choose an explanation language, roleplay situations such as cafés, interviews, and airports, and practise from A1 to C2. A two-minute speaking test places the learner by level. After practice, Lisan gives feedback on pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and vocabulary, including a sound to practise next. New vocabulary is reinforced through five sentences written by the learner. The app is available for iPhone and iPad, with an active subscription required. Apple In-App Purchase offers a Monthly plan at $12.99 a month and a Yearly plan at $49.99 a year; both include all languages, all goals, and unlimited conversations. There is no free plan. Lisan says raw recordings are normally deleted after processing, while transcripts, feedback, scores, progress, and conversation history may remain linked to an account. Users can delete recordings or permanently delete their account in the app. The app requests permission before sending lesson content to Google Gemini and Fish Audio.
