Haristyle
Haristyle is an Android augmented reality app for previewing hairstyles before a haircut.
What Haristyle is
Haristyle is an Android augmented reality app for previewing hairstyles before a haircut. Its camera detects the user’s head, and the app tracks it so a selected style stays positioned as the user turns or moves. The catalogue includes more than 50 3D hairstyles, with options to preview colors such as dyes, highlights, lowlights, and ombre effects. Users can save an image of a preview to their gallery and show it to a barber or friends. The Google Play listing says four premium styles can be tried free. Suggested uses include choosing a haircut, exploring color options, and planning a wedding or event look. Face tracking and hair rendering run locally using Apple ARKit or Google ARCore; the privacy policy says facial geometry and camera feed are not uploaded to Haristyle’s servers. Haristyle says it collects device information and anonymous usage analytics, does not sell personal data, and processes personal data under Singapore’s PDPA and other applicable privacy laws. Previews are approximations, and actual results may vary.
