What DUNE 3 is

DUNE 3 is a software synthesizer from Synapse Audio for macOS and Windows, building on the DUNE 2 synthesizer. It combines virtual analog, wavetable, and FM synthesis, and the full version includes more than 1,000 patches that are compatible with DUNE 2. Its dual multimode filter supports serial or parallel routing, Balance control, and zero-delay feedback filter types. Two independently programmable arpeggiators handle patterns, sequences, MIDI file playback, Random mode, and Arp Hold. The wavetable editor supports drawing, partial editing, formulas, and WAV import and export; oscillator 3 can load mono or stereo WAV files in several bit depths and sample rates. DUNE 3 also includes two master effects buses with nine effects each, including distortion, chorus, phaser, EQ, delay, and reverb. It comes as VST2, VST3, Audio Unit, and AAX plug-ins, and supports Native Instruments NKS. A 30-day trial is available for PC and Mac, but trials may prevent saving settings.
