CraftMC Minecraft Map Art Generator converts an image into filled-map items for display in Java Edition item frames. It accepts PNG, JPG, and WebP files and supports custom rectangular walls up to 16×16 maps, or 256 maps total. Each map stores 128×128 pixels, with larger images split at those pixel boundaries. A preview uses Java map color IDs and four brightness shades. Generated map data is marked locked so ordinary terrain updates do not repaint the artwork. The tool creates a ZIP containing map data files, an ID counter, tile previews, give commands, a layout, and installation instructions. Image resizing, color conversion, map splitting, NBT writing, and ZIP creation happen locally in the browser; CraftMC says the image is not uploaded. Using the files requires access to the world data folder, such as in a Java singleplayer world or a server where the user can edit that folder. The download targets Java Edition and cannot be copied into a Bedrock world. The web tool is free. CraftMC says it was created by TheDerpyWhaleYT, a Minecraft YouTuber and professional web developer.
