Animatix is an iOS app for turning photos into animations and cartoon-style images using an approach its maker calls rotoscoping. It offers 24 animation styles, with controls to adjust an animation or switch it off to retain a still photo. A separate set of 12 cartoon, comic, and sketch effects can change the image's look, or users can leave the original photo as it is. Animations can be exported as GIFs, videos, or Live Photos. The maker says creations can be shared directly to Facebook, Instagram, and more. The app is listed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 11.0 or later. It has a free plan with in-app purchases; full-version unlocks are listed at $4.99 and $9.99. Code Organa says media is processed on the device and its apps do not collect, store, or share personal information. Photos and videos remain in the app or on the device unless the user chooses to share them. The maker also says customers can use the apps commercially with their own images without attribution.
