Amazon VPC IP Address Manager
Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) helps plan, track, and monitor IP addresses for AWS workloads.
What Amazon VPC IP Address Manager is
Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) helps plan, track, and monitor IP addresses for AWS workloads. It can automatically assign CIDR blocks to VPCs using business rules, organize address space into routing and security domains, and monitor resource use against those rules. IPAM keeps an assignment history that can support auditing and network troubleshooting. It also supports cross-account and cross-Region sharing of Bring Your Own IP addresses, and can provision Amazon-provided contiguous IPv6 CIDR blocks to pools for VPC creation. Integrations include AWS Organizations and Infoblox infrastructure; pools can be shared through AWS Resource Access Manager. IPAM uses IAM service-linked roles and managed policies to monitor CIDRs and store metrics in Amazon CloudWatch, while allocation tags can be referenced in IAM and Service Control Policies to govern allocation access. It is cloud deployed and available through web and API. The Free Tier covers one AWS account and Region; the Advanced Tier is for resources across two or more accounts or Regions and bills by active IP address. Only one IPAM can be created per AWS Region.
