Redmi India officially revealed today that the company will introduce its most recent Redmi Note 12 budget smartphone series in the Indian market on January 5th, 2023, following days of teasers. The series includes three devices, the vanilla Redmi Note 12, the Redmi Note 12 Pro, and the top-end Redmi Note 12 Pro+. There is a possibility that these devices will likely be the same units that were launched back in October in China.

The vanilla Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLEDÂ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC which made its debut on the iQOO Z6 Lite smartphone sometime back. The handset gets a dual camera setup on the rear with a 48MP main sensor assisted with a 2MP depth sensor, while the selfies are taken care of by an 8MP sensor. Redmi Note 12 is juiced by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging support. The handset will likely boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 custom out of the box.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby Vision, & HDR10+ support. The phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC with upto 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
On the optics front, the Redmi Note 12 Pro has a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, OIS, an 8MP Ultra Wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, the front camera has a 16MP sensor. In contrast, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ also sports a triple camera setup on the rear but with a 200MP main sensor with OIS, while the other two sensors, an 8MP Ultra Wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor remain the same. Selfies on this handset too are taken through a 16MP sensor.
5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C connection for charging and data transfer are among the common connectivity options on both handsets. The Redmi Note 12 Pro ships with a 5000mAh battery and 67W fast charging support, while the Pro+ model gets 120W fast charging support.
