At the Redmi K60 series launch event in China, Redmi also announced the new Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. This new smartphone is an add-on to the Note 12 lineup and will likely be launched globally as the POCO X5 Pro. The handset has subtle design changes that differentiate it from the regular Note 12 Pro, while most of the changes have been done under the hood.
Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition Specifications
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1920Hz High-Frequency PWM Dimming, Dolby Vision, and Atmos. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, while the regular Note 12 Pro comes powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. With the addition of the 778G, the memory has also gone up and the Note 12 Pro Speed Edition now comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
In terms of the camera, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition packs a triple camera setup on the rear with a 108MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Selfies on the handset are taken care of by a 16MP sensor. Other features on the handset include MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box, stereo speaker, NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
Pricing & Availability
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition comes in Midnight Black, Blue, and Shimmer Green color options. The smartphone is priced at 1,699 yuan (INR 20,400 approx.) for 6GB + 128GB, 1,799 yuan (INR 21,500 approx.) for 8GB + 128GB, and the 12GB + 256GB model costs 1,999 yuan (INR 23,900 approx.)
