At their very first launch of 2023, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 12 series in the Indian market. The series brings three new smartphones, the Classic Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and the top-end Note 12 Pro+. The Vanilla or Classic Note 12 as Xiaomi is marketing it, comes with a ton of updates including a bigger AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC, and a hefty price tag.
Redmi Note 12 Specifications
The Redmi Note 12 5G sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC and packs up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. On the optics front, the handset gets a triple camera setup on the rear with a main 48MP sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. Selfies on smartphones are taken through a 13MP sensor.
Other features on the smartphone include 5G, 4G, GPS, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset ships with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. It runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box with a promise of 2 major Android upgrades and 4 years’ worth of security updates.
Redmi Note 12 Pricing & Availability
The Redmi Note 12 5G comes in Frosted Green, Matte Black, and Mystique Blue color options. It is priced at INR 17,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model, while the 6GB + 128GB model goes on sale for INR 19,999. Xiaomi is also offering launch discounts on the smartphone bringing down the price to INR 15,499 and INR 17,499, respectively.
